At 7:49 on April 14, 2010, an earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale hit Yushu County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, China. The earthquake left at least 2,698 people dead, 270 missing, and 12,135 injured.
The Blue Sky Rescue Team was the first non - governmental rescue team to arrive at the disaster - stricken area. They set up channels to save lives, successfully rescued 12 survivors, treated 1,165 affected people, and transferred 25 injured people, including those with fractures. They cooperated with the national rescue team in conducting medical rounds for 9 days, with 90 vehicle trips.
