Dingri Earthquake in Tibet

Chongqing Blue Sky Rescue Team has boarded Tibet Airlines flight TV9813 from Chongqing to Lhasa, Tibet. After arriving at Gonggar Airport in Tibet, they drove to Shigatse to carry out earthquake rescue operations.

Typhoon Kong-rey made landfall in Shanghai

Due to the peripheral influence of Typhoon Kong-rey (No. 21), waterlogging was serious in some areas of Shanghai, affecting the normal operation of the city. Facing this severe situation, the Shanghai Blue Sky Rescue Team responded rapidly and initiated the emergency preparedness and rescue work for the strong typhoon.

The major earthquake in Turkey

On February 8, 2023 - That night, 127 members of the Blue Sky Rescue Team, carrying rescue supplies, took flight CZ8021 of China Southern Airlines from Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and flew directly to Istanbul, Turkey, to assist in the earthquake-stricken area of Turkey.

Henan July 20 flood

3000 Blue Sky rescue workers are operating at the frontline, carrying 1,668 rescue vehicles, 835 various types of boats, generators, disinfection equipment, demolition devices, lighting devices, life buoys, first aid kits, water pumps and other equipment and materials. They are carrying out emergency volunteer services such as social coordination, material handling, tent construction, safety checks, mass transfer, search and rescue.

Sri Lanka heavy rain and flooding

The Blue Sky Rescue Team started the rescue on May 31, and 15 members went to Sri Lanka to carry out the rescue mission. All members returned safely on June 16. For this rescue, the Blue Sky Rescue Team stayed in Sri Lanka for a total of 14 days.

2013
Typhoon and tsunami in the Philippines

On November 20, 2013, on behalf of the Red Cross Society of China International Rescue Team, they participated in the rescue work in the Philippines. The first batch of international rescue workers for this rescue consisted of 17 people, including 8 members of the Blue Sky Rescue Team (search and rescue and support), 7 members of the 999 Rescue Team (medical), and 2 members of the Red Cross Society of China. This rescue operation was the first time in 90 years that Chinese non-governmental organizations represented China in participating in international rescue operations.

2010
Yushu Earthquake in Qinghai

On April 14, 2010, during the Yushu earthquake, the Blue Sky Rescue Team was the first civilian rescue team to arrive at the disaster area. With its outstanding professional search and rescue, medical, mobile, and communication support capabilities, it built a passage for saving lives. It successfully searched and rescued 12 survivors, treated 1,165 affected people, and transferred 25 patients with fractures and other injuries; cooperated with the national rescue team for 9 days and 90 vehicle trips for medical rounds; transferred disaster relief materials worth 50 million yuan, assisted the government in distributing medicines, and set up disaster relief tents.

2008
The Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008

On May 12, 2008, an 8.0-magnitude earthquake occurred in Wenchuan. In the following dozens of days, more than 1.3 million volunteers voluntarily went deep into the disaster area to carry out rescue operations. The year 2008 was later called "the first year of volunteer service in China". Zhang Yong, whose online name was "Yuanshan", and several friends who loved outdoor activities entered Wenchuan together. They met volunteers from all over the place and had the idea of establishing a civilian rescue team.
